Accessibility Statement
What are we doing?
In addition to federal regulations, we are actively working to conform to the W3C WAI’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA conformance, or updated equivalents of these guidelines. Northview Public Schools is taking several steps to make our websites more accessible to people with disabilities. We currently utilize a service called Acquia provided through a partnership with Kent ISD that routinely scans our website for the purpose of identifying noncompliant elements that need to be addressed. Our website administrator has attended training on web accessibility and conducts regular audits of our websites to ensure standards are maintained. Additionally, we have overhauled our entire website in partnership with FinalSite, a company that specializes in making Accessible Websites.
Third-Party Content
Please note that some pages on the Northview website contain links to third-party sites. Northview Public Schools is not responsible for the Online Content or accessibility of third party sites which are featured only as additional resources and are not essential to the function of Northview Public Schools programs, services and activities. Where third-party content or features are included as essential pieces, such as YouTube videos about our programs or forms for access to essential services, we are committed to insuring that the information in the content is equally accessible to all users through closed captioning, alternative text for visual elements or other methods as necessary.
Northview Public Schools is committed to working with digital providers whose online content conforms minimally to our own standards and guidelines.
